Biography
Olena has a combined private- and public-sector background. She began her career in the private sector as a legal counsel in data protection and emerging technologies. She later expanded her expertise into legislation, advising on initiatives in ICT, digitalisation, and the SME technology sector, and into policy-making, with professional experience at the European Parliament and the European Liberal Forum.
Currently, she is a PhD researcher at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB), where her research examines EU regulations on data transfers, focusing on how to balance economic benefits with public and national security interests in the context of hybrid threats and geopolitical dynamics.
