
Jorge Freddy Milian Gómez
Biography
Jorge Freddy Milian-Gómez is a legal scholar with extensive education and multidisciplinary research interests spanning international law, food systems, environmental law, digitalization and sustainable development. He holds a Law degree from the Universidad Central “Marta Abreu” de Las Villas (UCLV) in Cuba, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude. He furthered his studies with a postgraduate degree in Economic Law and completed a Master of Science at UCLV, focusing on the multidisciplinary connection between environmental sciences, business and social sciences for risk management assessment.
Jorge has also pursued dual PhD degrees, earning a PhD in Legal Sciences from UCLV and a PhD in Laws from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). His multidisciplinary research explores the intersection of international agricultural law, food law, food sovereignty, human rights, digitalisation and environmental sustainability. He has been an invited researcher at the University of Pavia, SOAS University of London, and the University of Granada. Additionally, he has served as a guest lecturer at the University of Padova, Airlangga University, and Maastricht University.
