Gloria González Fuster
Biography
Prof. Dr. Gloria González Fuster is a Research Professor at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB)’s Faculty of Law and Criminology. Member of the Law, Science, Technology and Society (LSTS) Research Group, she investigates legal issues related to privacy, personal data protection and security, and teaches ‘Data Policies in the European Union’ at the Data Law option of the Master of Laws in International and European Law (PILC) of VUB’s Institute for European Studies (IES). She is member of the Brussels Privacy Hub (BPH), and Programme Coordinator of its Data Protection Law Summer School. She also lectures on data protection law at the LL.M. in European and Transnational Law of Intellectual Property and Information Technology of the Georg-August-Universität, in Göttingen. She is Associate Editor of the European Data Protection Law (EDPL) Review, and Editor of ITeR’s Information Technology and Law Series.
González Fuster studied Law at the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), Journalism at the Faculty of Communication Sciences of the Universidad Autónoma de Barcelona (UAB), and Modern Languages and Literatures at the Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB). She has also worked at the European Commission’s Citizenship Unit of the Education and Culture Directorate-General (DG EAC) and at the Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
