Ariela Onorato

Ariela Onorato is a Master's student in Law and New Technologies at Roma Tre University (Italy), where she specialises in Data Governance and Artificial Intelligence.
Her research focuses on the regulation of digital platforms and consumer protection, with particular attention to Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) services and their regulation under the European consumer credit framework. 

Her Master's thesis, “Buy Now, Pay Later nelle piattaforme digitali: lacune nella protezione del consumatore”, examines the challenges posed by BNPL to consumer protection and the recent developments introduced by Directive (EU) 2023/2225 on consumer credit.

She is currently carrying out a research stay at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel as part of her Master's thesis.
