SIENNA stands for ‘Stakeholder informed ethics for new technologies with high socio-economic and human rights impact’. SIENNA develops ethical frameworks, recommendations for better regulation and operational tools for the ethical management of human genomics, human enhancement and AI & robotics.
The liaison officer for the Cyber & Data Security Law from SIENNA is Maria Bottis, Professor, Ionian University, who collaborates in relation to SIENNA for the part of Cyber and Data Security Lab with Professor Vagelis Papaconstantinou.
The SIENNA project has received funding under the European Union’s H2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 741716. SIENNA is coordinated by the University of Twente.
The collaboration of VUB's Cyber and Data Security Lab (CDSL) with the SIENNA project aims at the diffusion of the results of SIENNA research and the organization of events on the issues of cyber privacy and data protection in relation to the three technologies of SIENNA (human genomics, human enhancement and AI & robotics). The vision of the Cyber and Data Security Lab, to explore the legal aspects of cybersecurity and information security and to further knowledge, promote awareness, and foster new ideas within the legal framework on cybersecurity and information security, both globally and within the EU) is connected to the scientific objectives of the SIENNA project from many important aspects.
